Strawberry Fields Pool and Entertainment Pavilion

This pool and entertainment space demonstrates the exceptional level of craftsmanship, precision, and finish that is possible with mass timber construction.
Designed as a refined extension of the surrounding landscape, the structure balances openness, warmth, and architectural clarity.

The result is a space that supports relaxation, gathering, and year-round enjoyment, while showcasing the natural beauty and performance advantages of mass timber.

Timber Craftsmanship and Structural Expression

Traditional timber joinery with pegged connections adds a layer of visual richness where posts and beams meet. These details are not decorative afterthoughts. They are integral to the structure and reflect time-tested building traditions translated into a modern context.

Exposed connections reinforce the honesty of the structure and allow the timber frame to be read clearly throughout the space, creating a strong architectural identity.

Light, Volume, and Connection to the Landscape

A bright sunspace anchors the pavilion and features a timber curtain wall paired with a soaring corner vault that invites the eye upward and outward, connecting the interior to the sky and prairie beyond.

The bar and poolside ceilings introduce a more traditional rhythm through closely spaced rafters, while substantial eave and header beams carry the roof across clear spans exceeding 20 feet.

Material Palette and Interior Atmosphere

Nickel gap wood wall cladding carries the natural warmth of timber into the pool and change areas, reinforcing continuity throughout the pavilion. Quartz stone surfaces provide a light, refined counterpoint, balancing durability with a sense of quiet luxury.

Together, these materials create an environment that feels both grounded and elevated, demonstrating how mass timber can deliver precision, longevity, and comfort in high-performance recreational architecture.
