The Role: Structural Engineer

Reporting directly to the Executive Team.

What Success Looks Like

  • Providing accurate, code-compliant structural designs, calculations, and stamped drawings for a wide variety of timber projects.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with designers, project coordinators, fabricators, and installers to ensure engineering solutions are practical and buildable.
  • Supporting projects from concept through installation by answering RFIs, troubleshooting field challenges, and refining structural details when needed.
  • Developing and improving standard engineering details, templates, and processes that streamline operations and enhance quality.
  • Staying current with timber-specific building codes, sustainability standards, and engineering best practices to continuously elevate our work.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada and reside in Manitoba – this role works in our Winnipeg and Kleefeld locations
  • 2–5 years of structural engineering experience
  • Possess P.Eng. designation
  • Member of a Professional Engineers Association (PE, SE, P. Eng., Struct. Eng or other equivalent)
  • Proficiency with structural design software (RISA, WoodWorks, RFEM, etc.) and CAD tools (Cadwork, Revit, or SketchUp)
  • Strong knowledge of timber design codes and standards (NDS, CSA, Eurocodes)
  • Experience working with fabrication or construction teams is an asset
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving ability, and a passion for sustainable, wood-based construction
