The Role: Structural Engineer
Reporting directly to the Executive Team.
What Success Looks Like
- Providing accurate, code-compliant structural designs, calculations, and stamped drawings for a wide variety of timber projects.
- Collaborating seamlessly with designers, project coordinators, fabricators, and installers to ensure engineering solutions are practical and buildable.
- Supporting projects from concept through installation by answering RFIs, troubleshooting field challenges, and refining structural details when needed.
- Developing and improving standard engineering details, templates, and processes that streamline operations and enhance quality.
- Staying current with timber-specific building codes, sustainability standards, and engineering best practices to continuously elevate our work.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada and reside in Manitoba – this role works in our Winnipeg and Kleefeld locations
- 2–5 years of structural engineering experience
- Possess P.Eng. designation
- Member of a Professional Engineers Association (PE, SE, P. Eng., Struct. Eng or other equivalent)
- Proficiency with structural design software (RISA, WoodWorks, RFEM, etc.) and CAD tools (Cadwork, Revit, or SketchUp)
- Strong knowledge of timber design codes and standards (NDS, CSA, Eurocodes)
- Experience working with fabrication or construction teams is an asset
- Excellent communication, problem-solving ability, and a passion for sustainable, wood-based construction
